Antibacterial Octenidine Dihydrochloride

 brief introduction

Octenidine dihydrochloride is an effective preservative compound used for disinfecting skin, mucous membranes, and wounds. In vitro studies have shown that when the concentration of otinib is less than 1.5 μ M (0.94 μ g/mL), it can reduce the tested microbial population by more than 99% within 15 minutes. In vivo studies have shown that when applied to the skin of the hands and feet of crab eating macaques, otinib dihydrochloride can maintain its antimicrobial activity and reduce the number of resident bacteria from 90% to 99.98% at a water containing otinib concentration of 0.2-1.6%.

 Application 

Octenidine dihydrochloride, as a cationic surfactant, exhibits potent antibacterial properties against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Due to these robust antimicrobial effects, it is extensively used for the treatment and care of skin, mucous membranes, as well as open wounds, making it a valuable resource in the medical and healthcare industries.
