Grain in Ear

"When it rains and the mangoes are planted, all fields are planted with rice. The wheat and rice are beautiful in every home, and the song of the diamond is long everywhere."

The seasonal rain arrives at the time of mango seeding, and the farmers who are busy planting rice seedlings can be seen everywhere in the fields. ...... The mango seeding festival under the poet Lu You of the Southern Song Dynasty carries the freshness of midsummer after the rain and the relaxation of songs. June 6, along with the increasingly hot breeze, the third festival of summer arrives as scheduled, announcing the arrival of midsummer.

"May festival, said to have the mango of the seed grain can crop carry on." The ancient text "The Seventy-two Marks of the Moon" says that mango means "the cereal crop with mango is ready for sowing". Among them, "mango" refers to some crops with mango, such as rice, millet, millet, etc.; "seed", one for the seed of "seed", one for the sowing of "seed "seed", one for seeds, one for sowing. And in folklore, there is a more common explanation, that is, "busy seed". Once the mango seeds arrive, the busy time of the year for planting rice seedlings also arrives.

Summer is a symbol of enthusiasm and vitality, but what is happening in nature? In the ancient times, people divided the mango seeds into three periods: "the first is the birth of the praying mantis, the second is the beginning of the shrike's song, and the third is the return of the tongue without sound. The shrike, which likes shade, starts to appear on the branches and chirps because it senses the shade; while the shrike slowly stops chirping because it senses the change of climate.

Among the three mangoes, one will see a relatively unfamiliar animal, that is - the shrike. The shrike can be seen in many verses written by the ancients, and is what today's people call the Burrowing Bird. In the Hanshu-Yiwenzhi, it is stated that "Shrike, also known as Burao". It is also contained in the Poetic Edda, "Peng Peng millet seedlings, anointed by the cloudy rain, long southward journey, summoning Burao's".

"At sunset Burao flies, and the wind blows the Usual tree." The poet writes of the Burao bird, flying through the fading twilight, setting off the loneliness and isolation of the woman. It is evident that this bird was already noticed by the ancients thousands of years ago.

At the time of mango seeds, according to the material events recorded by the ancients, the Burrowing Bird chirps at this time. In the Book of Yi Zhou - Time Training, it is said, "On the day of the mango seed, the praying mantis is born, and on another five days, the shrike begins to call." At the same time, the poem "Shi Jing - Bin Feng" says: "In the seventh month the shrike calls, and in the eighth month it is loaded with performance. Loaded with Xuan and Yellow, I Zhu Kong Yang, for the grandson's garment."

The call of the Burrowing Bird is loud and piercing, and it is also easily perceived. Therefore, since ancient times, the Burrower has had a mixed reputation, with the name of "evil bird" and "harmful bird". Zhu Zi's "Meng" note says: "Borao (Burao), the evil sound of the bird, cover the lord class." Cao Zhi wrote an article "to make the bird evil bird theory", which wrote: "Burao Hu ...... common evil Burao's song, said that the house where the song must have a corpse also." It means that people hate the sound of Burao's song and think that there will be bad things happening in the house where Burao sings, but Cao Zhi thinks this is a far-fetched statement.

But at the same time, Burao is also a "Sizhi" as recorded in Zuo Zhuan, and has played an important role in history. It is written in Zuo Zhuan - Zhaozhuan 17: "The Feng bird clan, the calendar is also correct; the Xuan bird clan, the division of the division; the Bo Zhao clan (Burao), the division of the arrival; the Qing bird clan, the division of the beginning also; the Dan bird clan, the division of the closure also." In ancient times, Shao Hao's name official with the bird, Burao is one of them.

Although the Burao bird in the history of the mixed reviews, but in this bird, but also the sentiments of the ancients. The idiom of "labor and swallows fly apart", using the Burao and swallows fly to the east and west, to describe the couple, lovers parting, which is from the "music poetry collection - East flying Burao song", the original line is "East flying Burao west flying swallows, yellow nun weaving maid when they see each other". Thus, in the poems of the ancients, the bird was given the imagery of loneliness, yearning and the pursuit of love. After the Song Dynasty, the Bird of Prey made frequent appearances in flower and bird paintings, and the Bird of Prey appeared in Emperor Huizong's heirloom masterpiece "Plum and Bamboo Gathering Birds".

During the Grain Grain season, the Shrike keeps singing. When the fields are busy with farming, there are also elegant folk activities on that day. In the old days, folks often held rituals to worship the flower god on Grain Grain Day to send the flower god back to his throne, express their gratitude to the flower god, and look forward to meeting again in the coming year. In the ancient book "San Li Yi Zong" written by Cui Lingsi in the Liang Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty, it was recorded: "In May, when the mango seed is the festival, it is said that the valley with mango can be planted, so it is named after the mango seed, and the mango seed festival is held.
